Frequently Asked Questions
Cargo box: If used in a cargo box, no adhesive is needed. The dimensions of the blocks and weight of your skis will create a super stable base. I've had SKI BLOCKS in my Thule since inventing these in 2020 and I've yet to have an issue.
Pickup bed, SUV, Van: Same principle as above
Side of car/wall: If used inside and you don't expect them to be knocked into, then no adhesive is required although, double sided velcro or drilling them into your wall are extra measures you can take to ensure a fixed solution. For cars just be careful of crazy high winds but otherwise they will stay. When used vertically always use one of the "anchor notches" just right or left of the center notch for the greatest stability.
Traveling: SKI BLOCKS work great in ski bags and provide unparalleled protection. Use the included straps to ensure a snug fit.
Primary Use: SKI BLOCKS have come a long way from the original DIY solution but they still work best when used horizontally (cargo box, pickup bed, van garage, travel bag). They are the best portable protection solution for your skis and if you plan to use them horizontally, they are a no brainier.
Each Block (2 come with every order) is 12"L x 6"T x 4"W
Unless your box is very shallow, they will fit. Most new boxes are at least 26"W which means you can actually fit 2 sets of SkiBlocks side by side for 6 sets of skis stored!
Yes and no
SkiBlocks were designed with skis in mind so they're not ideal for boards but a board is doable. If you ski and board, they could work, but if you just board, these aren't for you.
The newest version of SKI BLOCKS (what you're ordering) have 5 slots per block so there's even more chance they will be compatible for both.
Since starting this passion project 2 years ago, I've seen the cost of raw materials, like my foam, rise an incredible amount. That paired with the logistical (transportation/manufacturing) difficulties the world is currently facing means my margins are incredibly tight. Believe it or not, you be hard pressed to find a foam of this quality at your local store, and even if you did, you might save a buck or two making these yourselves. I created this product to help skiers protect their skis and I'm lucky if the profit pays my electric bill each month.
